Our Story
Pontiro began in radiology data anonymisation. We built technology to strip patient identifiers from medical images and clinical reports, enabling hospitals to unlock their data for research and AI development without compromising patient privacy.
Working at the intersection of clinical data and AI, we saw a growing gap: healthcare organisations were adopting AI tools rapidly, but had no structured way to evaluate whether those tools actually delivered clinical value. Vendor claims were abundant. Independent evidence was not.
That gap became our core mission. Today, we help hospitals measure AI impact, support vendors in proving clinical validity, and give procurement teams the evidence they need to make confident decisions.

Ian brings 25+ years of board-level and executive experience across life sciences, MedTech, healthcare, and AI. A former CEO, COO, and Managing Director, he has supported organisations in securing over £250M in investment and provides governance, strategic, and commercial oversight as Pontiro scales.
Board Observer
Pete works at the intersection of AI, cyber security and national resilience. He founded the Wales Cyber Innovation Hub, co-founded VC-backed Nisien, and previously led AI-for-cyber innovation at Airbus. He chairs the EPSRC Digital Security and Resilience Strategic Advisory Team and has advised UK Government on AI strategy.
